Ivy Cottage is a square Georgian house situated in the heart of Laxton, the last remaining village in England that practices the Medieval Open Field farming system. The accommodation, the Goat House, is set in a stylishly converted red brick barn that sits behind the main house, providing ample privacy to make it a perfect peaceful place to stay. We have recently changed the configuration of the rooms and now offer a double bedroom, spacious bathroom, hallway and large sitting room, which can be used as extra accommodation if required (the modula sofa matches the measurements of a single bed, offering space for two).
Food is sourced locally and the eggs fresh from the village!
Breakfast is a choice of full english or continental and is served in the main house dining room at a time that suits. Freshly squeezed orange juice, grapefruit and homemade jams and marmalade are all included.
We are extremely lucky to have an award winning pub in the village, The Dovecote Inn, which is open seven days of the week, booking is preferable as it does get very busy, please contact Samantha to make a reservation on your behalf. In the next door village there is the Old Plough Inn, a nice walk if you have time on your hands!
